The Voice Exchange is an established, skilled group of individuals working tirelessly to improve mental health services through lived experience. Over five years ago, I was lucky enough to be involved in setting up the Voice Exchange and I am so excited to be working with this amazing group of people again.
About the Voice Exchange
The Voice Exchange is a diverse group of people with lived experience of mental health and neurodivergence. They bring a wealth of experience in designing, delivering and evaluating mental health services. The group is hosted by SMART London.
How the Voice Exchange can help your organisation
Support with service design, whether it is being part of your co-production panel or contributing to policies and strategies
Review accessibility, inclusivity and quality of your services
Partner with you on service pilots, reports or projects
Gather feedback to inform your work
Host and facilitate listening events to bring people together to improve services
Offer training to your staff on topics such as lived experience or tackling stigma
Where it all started
The Voice Exchange was set up in 2021 as part of a project with Healthwatch and Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. The result of this project was the Voice Exchange Report, which outlines five requirements for mental health services – compassion, humanity, engagement, accountability and continuity. Today, the Voice Exchange continues to champion these values.
